Abstract/Summary In this chapter, new trends in power-electronic technology for the integration of renewable energy sources like wind/photovoltaic and energy-storage systems are presented along with the current technology and future trends in variable-speed wind turbines. Also, the research trends in energy-storage systems used for the grid integration of intermittent renewable energy sources are discussed in detail.
