Abstract Life-history and host-plant (where recorded) data are given for 24 species of Lygaeidae from south-east Queensland, belonging to the subfamilies Rhyparochrominae, Lygaeinae, Orsillinae, Oxycareninae and Geocorinae. Records of host plants are provided for six more species. Some field and laboratory bio- logical and ecological information, including protective adaptation and coloration, predators and para- sites, food plants, feeding habits, behaviour, oviposition and fecundity, is provided for several of these species.
