Formatted Abstract/Summary
Grotesque of sculptor John Theodore “Jack” Muller (grotesque G1) carved by Rhyl Hinwood, 1981, located on the Michie Building in the Great Court at the University of Queensland. This grotesque was based on a plaster maquette Jack Mueller created himself and was adapted by Rhyl Hinwood to depict Mueller in his straw hat and dustcoat. Jack Muller carved approximately 32 grotesques and countless statues, friezes, inscriptions, wall roundels, arh carvings and coats of arms around the Great Court.
