Abstract A general procedure is described to maximize the output power from a lossless abrupt-junction multi-idler varactor multiplier under resonant conditions. The approach is illustrated by several examples. It forms the basis of an iterative technique for optimizing the design of multipliers having lossy and nonabrupt junction varactors. Copyright
