Abstract Delay to trucks delivering grain to 'country depots has been a feature of the Australian grain industry for over a decade. Management has to decide how best to operate the depots so as to minimize costs. Simulation techniques are used to assist management In deciding on hours of operation arid capital investment in Queensland country wheat depots. A computer package was developed and run on three computers, a large mainframe, a mini and a microcomputer and the costs of using the package on each established.
