Abstract This paper is a continuation of Part I which proposed a new shock damage model and examined some aspects of parameter estimation and analysis. This paper deals with two preventive maintenance policies for the model proposed in Part I. The first is a single-parameter policy based solely on age whilst the second is a two-parameter policy based on age and number of shocks recieved.
