Abstract The lymphocyte response to mitogens was studied in 21 patients with carcinoma of the cervix and in 40 control subjects. The mean log index of the lymphocyte response of the cancer group to phytohemagglutinin-P (PHA-P) was depressed before and after treatment relative to the controls. The response of pokeweed (PoW) was similar to the controls after treatment, but not significantly different from the before treatment response. The response of concanavalin A (Con A) before and after treatment was similar to the controls.
