Abstract Two digital ratio-measuring systems have been designed for use with a double collector isotope ratio mass spectrometer. Both systems are interfaced to a programmable calculator for data acquisition and processing. This provides a dedicated on-line system suitable for both "delta" and "enrichment" isotope measurements. An examination of overall performance indicates that digital systems are capable of providing high-precision results similar to analogue ratio-measuring methods used in the past.
