Abstract It is proposed that life, including particular aspects of living such as educating, is best conceptualized in terms of story, including concepts such as role, author, mystery, metaphor, crisis, climax and sequel. This permits today’s global crisis to be contextualized, and so understood, and so survived, as a necessary event in one version of a universal story.
