Abstract/Summary Most technical officers are promoted to a supervisory role because of their ability in engineering matters. The appointees' duties change predominantly from engineering to administration and coordination. The problem areas of administration appear to be planning, performance appraisal, control and delegation. This article is a starting point of the fundamentals of management.
