Abstract The potential constants of the SO2 molecule are determined from the fundamental frequencies of the 32SO2 and 34SO2 isotopic species, and the rotational constants for both 32SO2 and 34SO2 calculated from their rotational-vibrational bands. The fundamental frequencies for 35SO2 have been obtained from its infrared spectrum.
