Abstract A variation of the abductor digiti minimi, separating the ulnar nerve from the artery, is described. Two clinical cases of compression of the ulnar nerve caused by this anomalous muscle are reported, together with seven cases found in the dissecting room (1.5% incidence in a number of 400 hand dissections).
