Abstract Data are presented from a three-season study of the seasonal abundance, biology and life history of C. plebeiana, which affects cotton during its establishment and early fruiting phases in the south-east Queensland region. Results suggest that if insecticidal control of tipworm is necessary it should be initiated during the egg stage.
