Abstract The current-voltage characteristics for anthracene crystals with guarded silver paste electrodes show two definite regions. The response at low voltages is similar to previously reported results. At high voltages a log i ∝ V 1 2 relationship was found, which is discussed in terms of field-assisted generation mechanisms. However, no one mechanism can be unambiguously assigned to the results in either voltage region.
