Formatted Abstract/Summary
...social sustainability appears a useful concept and one worthy of the profession's attention as we seek to address the enormous social and environmental challenges facing our planet. Much work is yet to be done to establish whether social sustainability has the potential to renew and extend our commitment to environmental change. I encourage our profession to engage critically with what appear to be a useful, but yet to be fully developed, set of ideas and to do so with a commitment to thoughtful action.
