Abstract/Summary Anxiety is one of the most common mental health problems affecting children and youth today. Prevention approaches offer an alternative and adjunct to treatment, and have become a priority for governments, offering a cost-effective and efficient means of providing services to children and youth prior to the onset of psychopathology. This chapter presents a review of current prevention strategies for anxiety. Current evidence-based prevention strategies are discussed at and indicated, selective and universal level of prevention. Cognitive behavioral approaches to anxiety prevention practice and research are highlighted.
