Abstract 6-Fluoro-4-chromanone-2-carboxylic acid and 6-fluorochroman-2-carboxylic acid were both synthesized from p-fluorophenol. The (R)- and (S)-6-fluorochroman-2-carboxylic acids were obtained by formation of theirs salts with optical active (R)-(+)- or (S)-(-)-α-methylbenzylamine, respectively.
