Abstract Although a relatively brief work that comes in a little over 200 pages, Anne Blair's biography competently traces and details the course of a life and career so remarkable and so public as to be deemed worthy of such a tribute from people from both sides of politics. She portrays a man driven by a potent mix of energy and conviction, one who believed firmly in the rightness of his own views, one prepared to pursue his goals and ideals, both selfish and selfless, with grit, determination, and a scant regard for anyone who stood in his way or spoke against the things that he, Ruxton, deemed sacred.
