Abstract/Summary This is an updated version of a review of the health and psychological effects of cannabis use that was commissioned in May 1992 by the Australian National Task Force on Cannabis. The earlier review (Hall, Solowij and Lemon, 1994) has been updated in the light of recent research and the reviews of the literature (WHO, 1997; US Institute of Medicine, 1998). The section of chapter 5 dealing with cannabis and cancer has been published as an editorial in Addiction.
