Abstract/Summary Australian companies still do not adequately recognise or manage their corporate real estate. The estimated total cost of office accommodation in Australia is identified and the value of wasted space quantified. Some $550 million could be added to business's bottom line if new office techniques and basic strategic asset management planning were to be adopted. The consequences on the future need for office development may also be affected by developing facilities management techniques.
