Formatted Abstract/Summary
This paper demonstrates an innovative approach that combines ultraviolet laser micromachining in polymer coating; and lateral focused ion beam milling in silica cladding of hollow-core photonic crystal fibres (HC-PCFs). The results show that the process yields near-zero damage to microstructures, while maintaining fibre mechanical integrity.
