Abstract A method is presented which measures the amount of 125I-labeled ligand bound to a particulate preparation under equilibrium conditions. The technique involves counting the total amount of label present, centrifuging the sample, and recounting with a screen to absorb radiation from a defined volume of the supernatant. The method has been applied to the interaction between 1-(2-[125I]-iodophenoxy)-3-isopropylamino-2-propanol and β-adrenergic receptors in turkey erythrocyte membranes.
