Abstract The polarisation, properties of Pi 2 micropulsations are studied at certain 'low', 'middle', and 'high' latitude sites, and it is shown that left-hand polarised signals predominate at the low and high latitudes, whilst neither sense of polarisation is preferred at the middle latitude. In addition, the proportion of spectral components which are linearly polarised is found to be significantly higher at the low latitude site than at the other sites.
