Abstract A method employing the generalized integral transform is presented in this paper to solve problems of multicomponent reversible reactions involving mobile and immobile species. Many practical problems fall into this class, e.g. non-equilibrium adsorption-desorption and adsorption and surface reaction inside a single catalyst pellet. The technique is illustrated through a model example of non-equilibrium adsorption and surface reversible reaction inside a porous solid catalyst pellet.
