Abstract The C14-intramolecular isotope effects for the decarboxylations of malonic and bromomalonic acids have been determined at the m.p.'s of the acids. In addition, the C14-intramolecular isotope effect for malonic acid in quinoline solution has been measured between 85 and 135 °C.
