Abstract Observations of scintillations of 40 Mc/s signals from satellites have been made at Brisbane (27°S) near sunspot minimum. The most notable feature of such observations is the way in which the scintillation index depends on the angle the radio ray makes with the magnetic field. This appears to be very different from what is observed at somewhat higher latitudes.
