Formatted Abstract/Summary
Album, ca. 1927-ca. 1930, F3718 contains 6 loose leaf double-sided pages of sepia photographs from an album once belonging to Gwendolyn Edith Millicent Risson (née Spurgin). The photographs include university excursions, possibly at Townsville, Palm Island and Tweed Heads. There are also some photographs of current events, including the visit of the Duke and Duchess of York in 1927, and the Sydney Harbour Bridge under construction.

Gwen Spurgin attended the University of Queensland between 1925 and 1932. While a student she played sport and won a Blues Award for hockey. In 1934 she married Sir Robert Joseph Henry Risson, who graduated from the University of Queensland in 1923.
