The Fryer Memorial Library was established in 1926 following the presentation of a donation of 5 pounds, 5 shillings by The University of Queensland Students’ Dramatic Society in memory of their late Vice-President, Jack Fryer. The students requested that Dr Frederick Robinson, seen here on the left, purchase works of Australian literature in Fryer’s memory.  The library holds many significant collections relating to Australian literature, history and architecture.
