The Album of photographic views of Sydney contains 24 albumen prints (20 x 25cm) mounted on boards in a green album with gold and red embossed cover. Views include public buildings, University of Sydney, some inner suburbs, and views of the bays.

The album was presented to Lewis Adolphus Bernays by Eliezer Levi Montefiore and Jules François De Sales Joubert, Commissioners for New South Wales at the inaugural Queensland Exhibition, the Intercolonial Exhibition, in Brisbane on 26 August 1876. Bernays was a Clerk of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland from 1859 to 1908.

The General Post Office (GPO) and Circular Quay can be seen in distance. St James Church is at right. Signs on shops along George Street include 'Turner Tailor' (484 George St), 'J.R. Love Wholesale Grocer' (504 George St), 'Boot Warehouse', 'Hanks' Grocer (520 George St), 'Macmaster' & 'A.J. Watt & Co' (532 & 534 George St) .
