Formatted abstract
The distribution of species residence times for a given flow process is a useful diagnostic feature of the process. The residence time of fine particles of different sizes in a classifying hydrocyclone is indicative of process performance. In the present work the measured distributions of the residence times of large particulate tracers of different sizes, shapes and densities in a full-sized dense medium cyclone are presented and discussed.
