Formatted Abstract/Summary
Prime Minister Julia Gillard's celebrated Parliamentary speech addressing misogyny is set to music for choir, with the original speech recording heard mixed with choral voices. The music's melody is taken from the original speech, which is accompanied to enhance perception of the overlooked musical qualities of the speech.

This work is a setting of excerpts of Julia Gillard's famous "Misogyny" speech which alleged many instances of misogyny in Australian Parliament. The recorded speech is heard with choral accompaniment, in which the choir doubles and harmonises with the Prime Minister's speech using a very tonal and melodic style. It is a very approachable and engaging work, and has generated a significant buzz online.
