Abstract The acid-mediated transformation of syn and anti methylene interrupted cis,cis and cis,trans bisepoxides to tetrahydrofurans is high yielding, and demonstrates both regioselectivity and stereoselectivity. Trans,trans methylene interrupted bisepoxides do not yield tetrahydrofurans under the same conditions.
