Crumb’s Makrokosmos is some of the most remarkable piano music of the 20th century and this will be the first time that the four books will have been performed in Brisbane. Deeply imaginative and evocative, these short piano pieces expand the sound world of the piano in ways that are both mystical and mesmerising. This is a rare opportunity to experience this music live, performed by two of the country’s most outstanding pianists.

Repeat major performance with reframed interpretive perspectives of complete Makrokosmos (4 volumes of music across two full-length recitals) by George Crumb. Recorded for broadcast on 4MBS and 2MBS (Sydney).
