Formatted Abstract/Summary
The third annual Brisbane Contemporary Church Music Festival provides you with an exciting opportunity to hear fine performances of contemporary sacred music within the acoustic ambience of St John’s Anglican Cathedral.

Gloria - August 3, 8pm
In Paradisum - August 4, 2pm
Organ Recital - August 10, 6pm
Festival Eucharist - August 11, 9:30am
Uproar! - August 17, 8pm

The phrase ‘contemporary church music’ can be confusing. Is it so-called “popular” music? No. Are there drum-kits and guitars? No. Does it present the music that many churches present in church on a Sunday morning? Unlikely.

The Brisbane Contemporary Church Music Festival – now in its third year – presents recent sacred music that remains largely hidden to modern audiences because of the high standard of performance it requires. It gives listeners a way to experience faith and spirituality, couched in language appropriate to the age in which we live.
