Formatted abstract
This study examines the administrative and academic organization of the junior school section of a small independent girls' school in Melbourne. The writer, as Head of the Junior School, examines her own role and traces the development of the organization of the Junior School since her appointment as Head in March, 1978. The field study or case study method is employed. The researcher occupies the role of participant observer and much of the data are collected from the writer's perception of her own developing organization.
