Advances in the synthesis and applications of mesoporous materials templated bynonionic block copolymers have been reviewed. In the past few years, differentsynthetic methodologies have been developed to fabricate periodic mesoporoussilica materials with controllable morphologies. The wall structures of mesoporous silica materials templated by block copolymers represent quitedifferent properties compared to that of mesoporous silica templated by ionicsurfactants and therefore are discussed separately in this chapter. Recent research efforts have been devoted to the fabrication of non-siliceous mesostructures, theuse of nonionic surfactants and amphiphilic block copolymers has resulted innon-siliceous mesoporous materials with a large variety of compositions.Mesoporous materials with uniform and tunable pore size, highly ordered porestructures, adjustable morphologies, ultra large surface areas and various wallcompositions have shown potential applications in catalysis, adsorption,separation, optics, sensors and nano-reactors.
