The AUSROC 2.5 rocket is a 431.6 kg liquid fuelled rocket. This rocket is to reach an altitude of 32 000 metres and then fall to earth under a series of parachutes. This recovery system is required to have a landing velocity of less than 7.5 m/s for the main rocket and less than 9.5 m/s for the nose cone.
