Abstract/Summary John Douglas Story, 1869-1966, was a man who had a tremendous impact upon the development of The University of Queensland. Beginning with sitting on the first University Senate in 1910 and continuing until 1963, Story's involvment with the University continued in several capacities over the years including serving as Chancellor and Vice-Chancellor. The Story bridge and the J.D. Story building are named in his honour.
