Formatted Abstract/Summary
The records obtained from the Sprengnether .Horizontal component Seismometers were used in this investigation which was canied out in order to:

l . Develop a method of measuring microseism amplitudes that could be applied at all times, with particular emphasis on obtaining an early warning of the development of a cyclone.

2. Test the method by applying it to the records obtained during the two cyclones in March, 1955.

3. Establish whether there was any detailed correlation between the microseisms and the cyclones which would provide a basis for future investigation.
