Formatted abstract
This is the first report of a study of the role of service integration and its potential to contribute to efforts to reduce homelessness in Australia. It provides a conceptual foundation for the study by analysing the available evidence on integrated social policy and practice and its applicability to the contemporary homelessness context in Australia. The report also provides a framework for the later empirical stage of the research.

The study is one of five projects being undertaken by the Institute for Social Science Research (ISSR) at The University of Queensland (UQ) under a Homelessness Research Partnership Agreement (HRPA) with the Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaHCSIA).
