Additional Notes "The shields and coats of arms from universities all over the world were added to the colonnade, in addition to carvings of native animals and flora." "The grotesques, or wall-protruding sculptures, which depict known and unknown identities from the early days of the university and some classical figures." "The grotesques, the crests and other ornamentation around the Great Court are too numerous to discuss here. The best way to comprehend them all is to walk the precinct with a copy of Pascoe’s A Guide to the Great Court." - Clive Moore, The Forgan Smith Building and the Great Court at the University of Queensland: Investing in the Future
