Formatted abstract
Alkylation of naphthalene with propylene over mesoporous Al-MCM-48 catalysts with different silicon to aluminium ratios (nSi/nAl) was tested. The activity of the catalysts increased with decreasing the nSi/nAl ratio. In our experiments alkylation product composition was determined by kinetic and thermodynamic factors. Nevertheless, unfortunately, a high 2,6-diisopropylnaphthalene selectivity was not observed in our catalyst system, that was repetitively described in the literature.
