Abstract/Summary To understand the impact of climate change on Australian communities, we need to also understand an individual community’s values, expected response and general resilience. This project is aiming to do just that for south-east Queensland’s Moreton Bay and its catchments. Researchers will consider the effects of climate change alongside other major changes in the region, including population growth and its impacts on land use, carbon emissions, infrastructure and lifestyles. Involving communities, traditional owners, resource user groups, government and non-government organisations, the analysis will provide a clear and systemic foundation for planning and management, as well as fostering social learning, strengthening partnerships and collaboration, and stimulating adaptive capacity and community resilience.
