An exhibition of 50 previously unseen WWII photographs of New Caledonia sourced from the New Caledonian Government Archives. The exhibit explores themes of the ordinary solider’s perception of war, the intersection of war and tourism, contact and exchange between American and Kanak cultures and New Caledonia during the ‘time of the Americans’.

Tour of Paradise: An American Soldier in the South Pacific features the work of Corporal Elmer J. Williams, an American assigned to New Caledonia in World War II.
