In today's world, where people constantly communicate globally via Twitter, Facebook, blogs, etc., it is unfathomable that classrooms should remain the last bastion of disconnectedness where students' voices are silent, as if the thirty or so students in the room were one. It therefore comes as no surprise that a growing number of ministries of education, universities and teachers' colleges, who wish to introduce educational reforms, include cooperative learning (CL) as a major component of their education policy.
