Formatted Abstract/Summary
Brisbane’s multi award winning and four-time platinum selling songstress Katie Noonan joins Topology for a joyous, musical collaboration with a very special homage to Joni Mitchell and her album Blue.

Beatles' pop music and a wide spectrum of jazz have played an instrumental role in the musical upbringing of Brisbane-based singer/songwriter/interpreter Katie Noonan. Following the platinum success of her debut album Skin and recent ARIA nomination, Katie released her new album Blackbird: The Music of Lennon and McCartney in November 2008.

Now Katie joins Brisbane Powerhouse resident-ensemble Topology, who have attracted international acclaim for their bold compositions.

Together they will explore the works of Joni Mitchell – covering, in its entirety, her seminal 1971 album Blue. An album of raw, emotional honesty Blue is a captivating and intensely beautiful offering. Topology and Katie will also present their respective original repertoires, shifting between Katie’s best known and some brand new works and Topology’s most entrancing compositions.

Don’t miss this exciting opportunity to see some of Brisbane’s most talented artists together on stage creating, blending and fusing their musical genius.

2 performances: Friday 24 - Saturday 25 April 2009.
