Estimation of aircraft aerodynamic performance in use of CFD has been recently applicable to deflected flap condition as well as conventional cruise condition. This presentation proposes the problematic effects of shock induced separation accompanying relaminarization around a transonic deflected airfoil, whose significance we have revealed through brief numerical simulation. Few instances of relaminarization have been reported in transonic or supersonic flows and the phenomenon in such high-speed flows is of great aerodynamic interest, while study of its effects around subsonic high lift devices can be seen in existing publications
