Abstract Both left-handed and right-handed enantiomorphic excessive helical mesoporous silicas have been selectively synthesized using achiral cationic surfactant cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) as a liquid-crystal template and chiral organic dopants as handedness-inducing agents.
