Abstract An analysis of literature focussing on project success and failure shows that the final outcome comprises highly subjective measures. Typically, assessment is based on quality, costs and time. However, many organizational and external factors outside the direct control of the project domain impact on perceptions of acceptability. This research addresses what are the factors affecting quantitative and qualitative measures of project quality and determination of the project outcome.
