Diblock copolymers are two different types of polymer chains that are joined covalently. These copolymers can phase separate into ordered nano-structures if the respective blocks are immiscible. A range of phase morphologies can be accessed depending on the relative lengths of each of the blocks and the degree of immiscibility. Hence, the assembly of diblock copolymers has recently attracted significant interest due to its applicability as templates for nanostructured materials.
